Trip Summary

The Upper Dolpo trek takes you deep into one of the least developed region of Nepal, immortalised by Peter Matthiessen’s book The Snow Leopard. Located in themid-West region of Nepal, Upper Dolpo is a magical part of the Himalaya. Bordering Tibet to the North and Upper Mustang to the East, the area was only opened to tourists in the 1990s, and is striking in its ecological diversity. From dramatic Himalayan passes to the serene Phoksundo Lake, and passing through several charming villages, this trek is characterized by the astounding beauty of the landscape it passes through.
