Trip Summary
Climb Nepal’s most popular trekking peak to an altitude of 6470m. Negotiate glaciated terrain and take in spectacular views of the world’s highest mountains including Everest, Makalu, Amadablam, Lohtse and Nuptse. Trek through Makalu Barun national park crossing two high passes en route. Visit local Sherpa villages, stay in local teahouses and walk through the Hinku valley.
We will provide you with instruction with basic mountaineering skills to ascent this beautiful peak.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel and process permits.
Day 2: Fly to Lukla and start the trek.
Day 3 - 8: Trek to Mera Base Camp (5045m)
Day 9: Mountaineering skills training and acclimatisation.
Day 10: Climb to High Camp (5800m)
Day 11: Climb to the summit of Mera Peak and return to Khare.
Day 12: Spare summit day in case of bad weather.
Day 13 – 15: Trek to Lukla
Day 16: Fly to Kathmandu and have a farewell dinner.
Day 17: Transfer to airport.

Please note, some teahouses charge extra for access to wifi, use of a power socket to charge electrical devices, use of a heater, and hot showers. These costs are not included in the package price.
Physical condition and prior experience:
Ascending a +6000m is always strenuous and a strong level of fitness is required – summit day will require 8-9 hours of trekking / climbing above 5000m. Whilst the climb is largely non-technical, some basic climbing and mountaineering skills are required to summit. Prior experience of this is beneficial but not required as training will be provided during the course of the climb.
