Trek to the base camp of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. See the legendary route through the Kumbu Ice Fall up to the South Col on Everest and enjoy stunning mountain views over Ama Dablam, Lohtse, Nuptse and, of course, Everest. On the way to Everest Base Camp trek through Sherpa villages and stay in local teahouses.

During the journey to and from Everest Base Camp, this trek will take you over three high passes through three beautiful valleys with stunning mountain views from the passes.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel and process permits.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla and start the trek to Phakding 

Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche 

Day 4: Acclimatisation day in Namche (3440m). Spend the day visiting the bazaar and exploring the local area.

Day 5: Trek from Namche to Tengbouche  

Day 6: Trek from Tengbouche to Dingboche / Fereche

Day 7: Trek from Dingboche to Chhukung

Day 8: Trek from Chhukung to Loubche via Kongma La Pass (5550m)

Day 9: Trek from Loubche to Everest Base Camp

Day 10: Trek from Everest Base Camp to Dzongla

Day 11: Trek from Dzongla to Thangnak via Cho La Pass (5420m)

Day 12: Trek from Thangnak to Gokyo

Day 13: Rest day in Gokyo. Take advantage of one of the many day trips.

Day 14: Trek from Gokyo to Lumde via Renjo La Pass (5360m)

Day 15: Trek from Lumde to Thame

Day 16: Trek from Thame to Namche

Day 17: Trek from  Namche to Lukla

Day 18: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu. Farewell dinner in Kathmandu

Day 19: Transfer to airport

Please note, some teahouses charge extra for access to wifi, use of a power socket to charge electrical devices, use of a heater, and hot showers. These costs are not included in the package price.

Physical condition and prior experience

You need to be in reasonable physical condition to join this trip. You will be required to walk up to 5-6 hours per day whilst carrying a small day pack.
